Vodka Martinis

The martini is having a moment in the office… and it’s ice cold.

Lately the Glengarry office has been on a serious vodka martini kick. Not the messy overloaded kind. We are talking about martinis that are clean, icy and precise, served in a glass so cold it almost hums when you pick it up. Nothing hides in a vodka martini. It is all about clarity, chill and the character of the spirit.

Try Our Way

We keep it simple but we are particular. Grab a small spray bottle of Dolin Dry Vermouth and give the chilled glass a light misting, just enough to perfume it. Or do it old school. Pour a splash of vermouth into the glass, swirl to coat the interior, then tip the excess out. The point is subtlety. The vermouth should lift the vodka.

The vodka, pre chilled within an inch of its life, is stirred over ice until silky, then poured in like liquid glass.

To finish it off, pop a citrus twist in there or an olive or two. Nothing more is needed.

The beauty of the vodka martini is in these quiet details. Each vodka tells its own story and the tiniest tweak, a mist of Dolin or a change of spirit, shifts the entire experience. It is ritual but not rigid.

Here’s what’s been in heavy rotation lately

Suntory Haku Japanese Vodka

From Japan. Made from 100 percent Japanese white rice and filtered through bamboo charcoal. Silky and delicate with a soft rice sweetness.

The Reid Single Malt Vodka, Cardrona Distillery
